The second week of March is the week set aside for the Michigan Merit Exam (MME) testing at high schools across Michigan. The first day of testing is Tuesday, March 9. This testing takes place over three days (Tuesday, March 9, through Thursday, March 11). Click here for a brief overview of the week along with a bell schedule for the three days of testing.

If you are interested in attending Oakland Technical Center for the 2010-11 school year, the deadline to turn in your application is March 15. Pick up an application on the wall next to Mrs. Bennie’s desk in the counseling office. Some clusters fill up quickly, especially the Culinary and Visual Imaging program. Our slots are limited. Students will be placed on a first-come first-served basis.
Attention all faculty members and students: We are starting to sign individuals up for our annual Charity Week Blood Drive that will be held on Monday, April 26, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. You must be at least 17 years old. If you are interested in donating, please contact Alana Karbal or Mrs. Lalberte in room 228.
There will also be a bone marrow drive at the same time as the blood drive. Students must be 18 to participate in the bone marrow drive. More information will be coming. If you have any questions, see Alex Lisner.

Bloomfield boys’ lacrosse tryouts are Monday, March 15, thru Thursday, March 18, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at Andover’s turf field. All players must have a physical on file to participate.
Girls’ lacrosse tryouts will be held Monday, March 15, thru Friday, March 19, from 3-5 p.m. at the Lahser football field. You must have a current physical exam on file. There will be a mandatory parent/player meeting on March 24 at 7 p.m. in the Lahser cafeteria.
There is a mandatory parent/athlete meeting this Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m. in the Andover media center for anyone interested in trying out for boys’ golf. Try outs begin on Monday March 15.

The Medical Careers Club will meet today in Mr. Mathena’s room 210 immediately after school. Dr. Leff will be here to talk about her specialty as a pediatrician and internist. Other important information will also be discussed regarding upcoming events. Hope to see you there. New members are always welcome.
Attention students in need of community service opportunities: The YES Foundation is currently in need of two students to help in their office a couple of days a week, after school, to help grade homework packets and provide feedback to the children. The YES Foundation is a non-profit literacy organization that works with 2nd and 3rd graders from Detroit and Pontiac public schools. They are located in Bingham Farms at Telegraph just south of 13 Mile Road. If interested, please stop by the community service office for more information.
The Bloomfield Players Community Theater is producing the musical, Anything Goes at the Andover theater. They are in need of volunteers to help with stage crew, sound assistant, and lighting assistant. No experience is necessary. If you are interested, please stop by the community service office for more information. A schedule of the dates volunteers are needed is posted outside the door of the community service office.
